Digestive symptoms and COVID-19

According to a new study due to be published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology, digestive or GI symptoms may be the only evidence of COVID-19. Although COVID-19 most commonly presents with respiratory symptoms, authors of the study found that a subgroup of patients present with GI symptoms only such as diarrhea.

The incidence of GI symptoms are unclear but reports range from 5% to 50% according to the American College of Gastroenterology. If you have new-onset GI symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, and are concerned that you may have COVID-19, please talk to your provider or call our office.

We understand there is a lot of anxiety and concern during these unique times, but we are here for you!
